It’s like there’s a secret Dingus Sign-up Sheet somewhere online, or something…

You nailed it Lyz, Noem is epically awful. I’ve noticed that Fox News (this is the Fox administration after all) has curated a specific look for this generation of female MAGA gender traitors. Rupert applied the “see what can stir my ancient nethers” standard for all his female employees and MAGA candidates. Evidence suggests there was/is zero regard for actual integrity, intelligence, ability or character.

She’s rapidly exceeding the Dingusry of even Vance and Kennedy, and I thought Kennedy was unbeatable there.

Lyz, just for the record, about:

“I hope the dingus newsletter will always be free. But I can’t make this newsletter without paying subscribers.”

I became a paying subscriber the moment I read you. I say this not to cast shade on those who can’t afford to (perish even the thought!) but to note that those of us who can afford to should subscribe. To help keep you keep writing, and to help those who can’t afford that to keep reading your words.

Because what you say matters. Including by calling out dog-murdering dingi (and you didn’t even mention that)!

Also for the record: I really *like* that your Substack newsletter is called “Men Yell at Me”. Over the years I have found that I rather like women who the wrong kind of men yell at.

An unelected cabinet secretary had an elected sitting US Senator arrested and then the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, said the senator should be censured. I wept. Co-equal branches of government. Johnson should be insulted on the Senator's behalf. Instead, he's acting like a small j johnson. I nominate him for next week... Everything we were afraid of is happening. I don't see this ending well for anyone.

I can't "like" this, but I wanted to acknowledge your comment. It's not going to go well for the fascists in the long run either. They will fail eventually, if only because they'll run out of scapegoats.

The "what separation of powers?" House Speaker has embraced sycophancy to the regime in yet another bending of his wobbly knees: he went out of his way to use "the Democrat Party" derisively when suggesting Padilla's censure. It's a very small atrocity in a busy day/week for them, but us copy editors are going to edit copy. Is this an MQ for all of the tyrant's lickspittles now...? Please don't make me check. It has been a minute since I thought of the Republic Party, so perhaps it's across the board anymore.

They've been doing that "Democrat" Party thing for years. I don't understand why, other than perhaps it's just another insult, not calling the party by its actual name. It's absurd.

i suspect that they're just hoping to annoy us. instead, we simply acknowledge how idiotic they are.

He also said our Governor , Gavin Newsom, should be tarred and feathered. Mike Johnson is a horrific little man. I am actually liking my Gov right now. Pushing Alex Padilla around and insulting Newsom is a political plus for them here in California.

My governor, Pritzker, was in a Congressional hearing yesterday and he was brilliant. "I am not going to be lectured by somebody who extols the virtue of Adolf Hitler," may be the greatest statement made in Congress this year. I'm extremely proud of him.

When Kristi Noem’s book was published revealing that she shot her own dog, she richly deserved the dingus award. A couple of weeks ago after she flubbed the definition of habeas corpus, reportedly considered a reality tv show where the winner received fast track to citizenship, and it was revealed that her employees were subject to lie detector tests, I was sorely disappointed that she did not repeat as dingus of the week. However, it seems that she is the dingus that keeps on giving! I expect that some day in the future, if the first amendment is not repealed to give the second amendment its rightful place at number one, you will be naming Kristi Noem permanent Queen of all Dingii.

Lyz. How I wish you had a gentler dingus to pick. But dingus is too mild a word for the outrageous behavior from a dog killer We saw that coming. Kill your own dog. String up a senator. Super super glad to be in Greece. I did read some Plato and Sophocles before arriving. Wish it was required reading to hold a federal position

Kristi Noem was the last woman standing in the Dingus Madness 2025 tournament (edged out by The Supreme Court in Round 4: The Embarrassing Eight) and today's award makes her eligible for inclusion in the 2026 bracket. I truly hope no one more evil/awful than her emerges, not because I care if she wins the next Dingus Madness but because shit is already bleak and my heart needs a break.

Thanks as always for the weekly levity Lyz!

Noem is a c—t, a word I detest (except when Brits use it). She’s every fucking mean girl you ever knew.

Notice, too, that the public officials she’s detaining are people of color.
