Which version of the Fugitive did you like? The one with Harrison Ford?

Sorry it’s such a silly comment but the rest is overwhelming and I need strength to call my Congress people. 😁

It is not silly. We need distraction from the world now and again. Harrison Ford is a good distraction.

Oh yeah, the bill is a piece of ... work, with a few hidden "gems" - anyone can buy a silencer/suppressor for their weapon of choice with no registration or background check - right

But what really struck me was all the sycophantic behavior/speeches by the reps who voted for the bill.

Also this week, I learned that the Qataris had been trying to unload that plane for some time, which gives the whole story a new angle. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/19/us/politics/trump-air-force-one-qatar-jet.html Who wants a lemon? It's an old vehicle with high operating costs, high parts costs and it needs work costing 2.5x it's nominal value to make it safe to use for the application. The Airforce is (we're) going to spend $1billion (I bet it's in the big bullshit bill) to add all the fancy safety and countermeasures to the plane just in time to gift it to the the bribee.

I remember a funny story a guy in one of my AA meetings told a long time ago about his mother, sitting at the head of the dinner table at Easter. The whole family was arguing and fighting, many were drunk, and she looks up, smiles, and says, "More ham?" That is how I'm facing this political chaos, so thanks for the recipes! I'm wondering if I can crisp the gnocchi in the air fryer. My weekend will be good - a facial Saturday morning and watching my grandson's ballet performance Saturday night.

“By the rules of tech bros” is now officially part of my vocab (as someone who spent decades toiling in those inhospitable fields).

After all of the week’s “dingi-mania,” Rose Betts’ “Doodles” was just the pick-me-up I didn’t know I needed! As always, thanks!

“two homophobias in an ill-fitting suit and glasses” made me laugh out loud. I think that’s the most perfect description of Mike Johnson I have ever seen in print.

Thank you for this morning’s belly-laugh. Lord knows it’s hard to find anything to laugh about right now.

I have never before felt such glee watching a building burn.

(I can't talk about the trump administration this week because I just don't have the spoons, as the kids say.)

Your AI business model critique is what I've been shouting about for years now. So affirming to see it here, and so well-said. Thank you.

Any substance to the rumor that a greater-than-zero number of our fascist neighbors tl;dr-ed Project 2025, put it into their AI bot, and out came A Modest Proposal? Without irony or author attribution, of course, but lots of recipe photos.

Read your cocktail recipe to my wife and before I even got to the part about the porch she said, "That's a porch pounder! Yum!"

Your writing about the gravitational pull of the Big Bullshit Bill was so vivid. I put it on Blue Sky, with full attribution, of course. All of MYAM was good, as usual. Excellent work.
