ALL these GOP men saying women are not qualified are going to have interesting discussions with their male constituents when the draft is reactivated because there are not enough men to fight in the wars that #47 will inevitably start.

At least Warren is sorta fighting back. I would feel better if more Democrats decided to treat Trump like the contamination he is.

Don’t attend the inauguration.

Don’t attend the State of the Union address.

Don’t sit with him at state funerals.

Don’t bother with ANY of the idiot rituals surrounding the Presidency. No standing for him . No acknowledging his filthy presence. Don’t go to the stupid correspondents dinner and yuck it up with any Trump supporters.

Especially DO NOT VOTE FOR ANY OF HIS APPOINTEES. NOT A BLOODY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. Lichtenstein doesn’t need an ambassador. All cabinet departments can survive without the kind of malicious clown the malicious clown will appoint.

IF ONLY any of them had any backbones. :( None of them will do any of these things, unfortunately. Politics is just a game to them, not the existential threat that it is to the rest of us.

This aligns with no longer making accommodations for folks who have made their support for Trump known to me.

Even if women alone did the kind of boycotting of these events, it would be noticed. Time to take a page out of Michelle Obama’s playbook

The silver lining is how this all plays out in REALITY, not in their narcissistic fever dreams. Delusion is a hallmark of narcissism, and this level of misogyny is slotted somewhere on the narcissistic spectrum.

These “men” are not qualified OR capable of running a company, a family, or a boardroom. They cannot run a country. As usual, we’ll be there when it all falls to pieces. We just have to pray the damage is not too great before they finally whimper, slam their collective fist against the door, and skedaddle.

Democrats need to stay out of their way and not play co-dependent abused spouse, thereby helping them to maintain the illusion that their agenda is somehow “working.” No more protecting them, or the American people, from themselves.

in the immortal words of Lois McMaster Bujold, they are "incapable of running anything more complicated than a dishwasher."

Some can’t even run a dishwasher…or load it properly.

This piece, and many others, are really driving home the message in this substack piece by Celeste Davis. It's on why male college enrollment is dropping. From the piece: "Male flight describes a similar phenomenon when large numbers of females enter a profession, group, hobby or industry—the men leave. That industry is then devalued." There are examples from specific professions: veterinarians, biologists, interior design, teaching, librarians, etc. https://celestemdavis.substack.com/p/why-boys-dont-go-to-college

I read that piece by Celeste Davies and completely understood it. Please also read Katrine Marçel “Mother of Invention” and Caroline Craido Perez “Invisible Women” both of whom report that when an occupation is made up of mainly women, men don’t want to do it. And if they do - say nursing - they are much more likely to be in top roles and management positions. I read somewhere “oh to have the confidence of a mediocre white man” and it is so true.

I find it intriguing that men must work so hard to keep us in our "places." What if they put that much work into doing their actual work?

They might graduate college that way 😁

This is so spot on:

"This is the fight of the next four years: male grievance, resentment and a sense of entitlement to the things women and minorities have and the spaces they worked hard to occupy. It’s not enough for Trump to win; women must be punished for their ascension, their qualifications, their independence.

The rebranding of women’s roles as trad wives and soft girls is no coincidence. Our voices and experiences are the “anonymous smears” that beleaguered men have had to endure."

This is all just backlash.

I watched The Six Triple Eight on Netflix a few weeks ago--fantastic film. However, I struggled with whether joining an institution or group that repeatedly betrays, degrades, and devalues people who are not part of the dominant group is a good strategy. (Actually the military mistreats everyone but especially people in non-dominant groups.) It is worth checking out a short video on Yesterqueers about Fannie Mae Clackum who fought a dishonorable discharge from the Air Force on the basis of homosexuality. It took eight years to win her case. Entering these institutions and then fighting discrimination legally seems worthwhile. Although building alternative communities and institutions that provide true belonging founded on partnership not domination values seems way better. Alternatives to traditional families and co-housing experiments like Radish in Oakland are so exciting. We can belong to each other.

Military combat roles have the exact same requirements for men and women. There are many roles in the military where women meet different standards than men but as far as infantry, EOD, and similar combat positions, the same standards apply . So this implication that women are there to meet a quota is demonstrably false and just meant to stir up the “men are being left behind crowd.”

The poor men who have been forced to take their boot off the necks of women🙄

It's classic sour grapes. Hegseth couldn't qualify for military service, so he wants to loudly proclaim that other people don't qualify either. It's all just to make his tiny ego feel better. No wonder he drinks so much—facing reality is unbearable for him. What a pathetic, tiny, ridiculous man.

I read another Substack this morning making the assertion that Hegseth (and many of the other nominees) is a DEI hire. Just what this country needs: include more aggrieved white men in government.
