My book This American-Ex Wife will be published in TWO WEEKS February 20, 2024. Already the book is an editor’s pick on Amazon. A GoodReads February featured book. Kirkus called the book “A well-researched, acerbic critique of a sacred institution.” And Rebecca Solnit called it a “bomb and a bouquet.” My friend Molly said, “it’s a great blueprint for anyone who’s desperate to choose joy in their own life.”
And you have TWO WEEKS LEFT TO PREORDER.
You can preorder by walking into your favorite local bookstore. Or by clicking on any of the links, here is one now! People ask me often which way they can preorder to get me the most money. I am sad to say I get the same money regardless. But if you do preorder a hardcopy it helps the book become successful.
Preorders are what determine the initial success of the book, because it’s what marketing and publishers look at to see what books are resonating and what isn’t. Every preorder helps me and the book get into as many hands as possible and also helps shove the patriarchy, just an inch out of line. If only 5% of you preordered we could make this book a bestseller.
So, once again, in my most Jeb Bush voice, I am asking you to preorder. It’s probably more fun than donating to another failed political campaign.
And if you’ve preordered or gotten an early copy, you can always help me by leaving a Goodreads review.
In sum, preorder my book (it’s on sale at Bookshop.org). Hand it off to a friend. Your mother. Your aunt. The lady at the park. Mail it to a celebrity in an unfortunate marriage. Get free.
As I have zero money for the time being, I decided to use the 'suggest a title' feature as I often do on my local library's website and preorder "This American Ex-Wife". It was already on order! 2 copies! I was able to get the second hold position because another of your fans here in the Twincities had the first...probably the lovely person who preordered it.
the cedar rapids public library has only ordered ONE copy. really? if you live in the cedar rapids metro area, put your name on the 'hold' list so they know how many people are interested. i'm #5 but am pre-ordering a book to give as a gift.
