Hell yes, E Jean!! So damn proud of her. And you language why her win matters for all of us so beautifully.

I came across a meme this week about aspiring to be a dandelion, which your mention of mint reminded me of: "Dandelions symbolize everything I want to be in life. Unapologetic. Hard to kill. Feral, filled with sunlight, bright, beautiful in a way that the conventional and controlling hate but cannot ever fully destroy. Stubborn. Happy. Bastardous. Friends with bees. Highly disapproving of lawns. Full of wishes that will be carried far after I die."

Come to think of it, that all also describes E Jean, so there you go! Here's to weedy, fierce, gorgeous, feral women who stubbornly refuse to stop taking up space. May they take over the whole damn world.

YES. I'm out here getting bodied by the trees, but I crave the sunlight lest my emotional wellbeing fall too low. Human physiology is amazing! No notes!

A happy and peaceful Mother's Day to all you moms; may you receive gifts that weren't bought at the last minute and some refreshing some time alone.

First - I love that line, "It takes difficult women to do difficult things." That makes me feel better about myself. I have known this about the male trees, and I never understood why that would be an option someone would pursue. That and the way they line them up in grids as if trees naturally repopulate that way.

Sneezing has gone from a mildly pleasant experience to a potentially laundry-inducing situation. I also cuss a blue streak after I sneeze, and that will be interesting if I get back in the classroom. I've already begun teaching my grandsons the "when and where" rules of cussing because of my sneezing fits in their presence.

I just had to pause for a sneezing fit as I write this.

I have a routine for allergies that varies depending on what is blooming. In Spring I am taking Zyrtec and Singulair at night, Sensamist in the morning, and nettle tea. When the tree pollen has dispersed, I can do without the Zyrtec. In late fall and winter, I can let go of the Sensamist. I use a Neti pot on really bad days.

I like the E. Jean Carroll may sue the orange menace again for his comments on CNN.

This is all of us, isn't it? I didn't have any allergies growing up but they started up three years after relocating from Southern California to Northern California. I went to an allergist and suffered the stick test. When the nurse came in the exam room to log the results, her visible shock was unnerving. I've been a connoisseur of OTC allergy meds ever since. Xyzal daily and Nasonex in the AM and PM. And +1 on the sinus rinse party. Gross, but necessary for survival.

This year's allergy season kicked off with lots of fanfare that included a special guest appearance by a COVID infection. That cursed virus got me for the first time in this whole flustercuck when I went to buy concrete (yay! Home repair) and foolishly didn't wear a mask. Let me tell you, Paxlovid mouth is real and nasty. But mostly better now, thankfully. Gratefully.

Thank you for once again writing a column that is both thought provoking and humorous. This world needs lots of difficult women.

I don't understand why Trump is upset about the verdict; he's bragged about successfully sexually assaulting women but never provided any proof. Are we just supposed to believe him, given all his other lies? Now he gets official legal recognition and he's mad about it. You'd think he would frame the verdict and hang it next to his Trump University degree.

I wish I could remove my eyeballs and scrub them in allegra and then put them back in...

BTW, I'm sure another island has told you this but there is a run down bar in Knoxville called DINGUS.

Despite having grown up only 25 miles South, I've never been inside. But whenever I road trip home from Chicago, I always text "Dingus" to my family to let them know I'm safely a half an hour away

Is climate change real? Yes, say my allergies, which were a non-event in my life till 13 years ago. The nose knows, right?

Happy Mother's Day, Lyz, and to all your readers who have someone in their life who calls them Mom.

My allergy tip is to wear a mask outside. My neighbors look at me weird when I wear an N95 mask to trim the shrubs, but nothing is more effective than reducing the amount of pollen you inhale. Wearing even a surgical or fabric mask if you are going to tread on the grass, walk in the woods, or stand in the breeze is really impactful. Also, disrobing directly inside the door and not bringing the pollen-y garments into the house.

The pollen. I have also added Mucinex during the day to the Zyrtec and nose spray combo. Otherwise, all of the snot stays in my head and I end up with a sinus infection. I am done with it. I will start feeling better just in time for fall allergy season.

I misread the last line at first thinking in your house you believe in kasha. And I would say we believe in both Kesha and kasha, the traditional eastern european/ashkenazi preparation of buckwheat groats.

The pollen count. Yes! Everywhere I've been this year, Iowa to Southern California and all points in between, my weather app gives me high pollen count alerts every day, as if I need to be reminded why my eye sockets feel like sandpaper.

I’m finally coming out of my pollen induced misery. The budding/flowering trees KILL me. Now that the trees have actual leaves I can breathe again. I’ve loved sounding like a lifelong chainsmoker the past month.

I’m wondering if the true dingus isn’t misogyny and the male trees (which is the name of my new album). Pollen can’t help that!

Pretty much every word - YES!

I think people are being too hard on CNN. The Trump townhall was really important for voters like me- a man who just woke up this week from a 26 year coma.

I only know Trump as a business failure nepo baby with a history of racism and sexual assault allegations. I need a chance to see how he has evolved over the years to become a viable political candidate. After all, it's not like someone with such a clear documented history as an idiot and a bully could just become President! That would be ridiculous!! 🤣🤣🤣
