I loved your book, and I think it made me stronger in my marriage - in that I am not willing to take on a whole lot of stuff I had before. I had a hard conversation about money tyranny (I don't make much, he makes more) and how he held that over me. I'm not afraid of divorce, but my husband and I have a conversation every anniversary about whether this is working for both of us. He's been divorced, I haven't. I'm glad he is listening, most of all, but if he didn't, I know I would be fine on my own. He'd have to adjust to losing our dog Jasper, and I would expect support payments for him :)
Here in the DC area, one of the many things these thugs are doing which really harms "family values" for both men and women is the insane insistence that government employees return to the office, five days a week, no exceptions. And for what purpose?
That and draconian forced retirements or outright firings, which hurt both the employees booted out, and all the offices that provide essential services! At best, this will take decades for recovery.
To get in front of an inevitable comment: Yes, I know that the font I chose for the bumper stickers makes Lyz's name look too much like Lyx Lenx, but my heart loves what it loves (this font). I'm sure that when my wife does divorce me (after reading This American Ex Wife, of course) the primary cited reason will be "poor taste in typefaces."
Just finished your powerful book. I’m in a same-sex marriage, and reading it made me look at my wife and say “we dodged a bullet by being gay.” I watch my nieces and my straight female friends deal with so many of the daily indignities and stressors you talk about in the book. I get so much passive-aggressive envy from so many straight friends who can’t believe I don’t have to put up with all the nonsense that gender roles inflict on them inside their homes. And I love your joyful pursuit of freedom, messiness, curiosity, room for mistakes, and the sovereignty of your own thoughts in the book. Great job, congratulations on an important work and your emancipation, and thank you.
i want a bumper sticker so bad
Okay, I'll send you one!

Those GD mugs.
Lol. Right? I am way too invested in their stories.
Happy book anniversary!
I have given all my girlfriends your book! You are amazing! Keep sharing your words!

SIGH!!!
Do you know if people being fired are getting any severance payments? I haven't read it anywhere.
The process is so chaotic that nobody knows anything for sure. I think that is part of their plan. Or maybe they really are simply idiots.

Hey, at least it wasn't Comic Sans. 🤣
Thank you.
‘Poor taste in typefaces’ is incontestable.
Guilty as charged!
I’m a former typographer, and as such, quite discerning. I do enjoy a quick wit, though!
Honk honk! I am digging that typeface also, particular against that checkered flag. You won't be in the font stockades alone.
Honk honk!
Bravo and congratulations.
