This is a brilliant idea! I probably won't be able to participate but I am thrilled and happy for those who can and do. Thank you, Lyz! I so appreciate the ways in which you are visibly working to make your communities better. Including this one, but also and especially Iowa because, well, Iowa!
I am currently in 3 or 4 online book clubs/reading groups (and was also in a "live" one that hasn't met since the pandemic began :( )... I probably need another one like a hole in the head (lol) but this is irresistible. :) Besides, "The Farm" has been in my TBR pile since it came out (I have an e-copy). Now to get it read in between my other book club obligations and the other books I have on the go...! Looking forward to the discussion!
Sounds good. For future consideration, I'd definitely recommend Diana Goetsch's "This Body I Wore." Very interesting, very well-written. Goetsch was recently in Iowa engaging with libraries and doing the banned books circuit, in troubled places like Pella, engaging face-to-face.
Spine chilling anxiety inducing page turner. Started yesterday finished now 3 am. This is why I’m not allowed to have new books. Will keep another few days and release back to St. Louis county library in case anyone needs it. Thanks for the insomnia, from the lead based new Madrid fault capital of Missouri.
no worries. i have so many books on my tbr list that i probably wouldn't have been able to get to it anyway. we'll need more of a heads up so that we can get books in time if we try to do this again.
Introducing the MYAM Book Club
The Farm is on backorder now on Bookshop.org but Thriftbooks.com still has some copies if anyone wants to avoid ordering from A. :-)
have it on request at the library. fingers crossed that i get it on time. if not, i can always join the discussion later.

Yesssssss! I need motivation to pick up a book a little more often, and my phone a little less. Super excited about this, ordering now!
This is fantastic! So, for the first discussion question on Sept. 7, have the book finished?
OMG I opened this newsletter so fast! I can't wait to read this book together!
