There's a flaw in Substack - I want to like this one about 100 times! I know it's self-serving to say that I nominated Gavin weeks ago, but somehow, self-serving and Gavin seem to go together so well...

Democrats should keep running unapologetically progressive women. If men want to drive the country straight to Hungarian Hell through implacable misogyny then let history write the plain truth of what happened to us. I refuse to support another white male narcissist and political illusionist.

That so-called opposition party aka Team Pepsi needs unapologetically progressive women more than said women need said party. Communities of compassion are not well-served by either party label. Maybe it's time to throw our own party...?

I loved this so much. I moved from California 10 months ago after spending most of my life there and i keep asking my family still in the state " what's up with your governor". Newsome's Presidential ambitions have always been apparent even when he has tried to be coy. I think he would sell his children to Satan if he thought it would get him into office. I look forward to seeing him flounder in the primary in a few years. He will never win over republicans and is quickly loosing the liberals who kept him in California politics for decades. Well done Liz! Newsome definitely has the energy of DOTW!

Yes. Newsome has entered the Dingus Hall of Infame.

Let’s also give some hate to Jared Polis, governor of Colorado, who vetoed a bill that would have eliminated some of Colorado’s old anti-union organizing laws. I mean, guys, and I do mean GUYS, the Republicans have their own loves, they’re not into you and you can’t ever be horrible enough for them. Pay attention to your own family.

Newsom has to go. He's swinging in the wind at the whims of the tech bros. Its disgusting. And I only recently learned that his ex-wife was Kimberly GuilFoyle. When I learned this I knew immediately that he, like she, is simply a transactional politician with no moral compass. He's showing off his true compass every day lately, its his ego. I don't even think he's very smart.

Also, Liz, I love your vodka martini and French fries combo. Did you realize that could be potatoes and potatoes (if the vodka is made from potatoes)? So really, what could go together better? XO

FINALLY. The slimeball getting recognition he deserves. I don’t live in CA and pay for all this exquisite natural beauty to watch the GovBro play footsies with white nationalists, mess with my disadvantaged neighbors, and abandon rooftop solar power.

Worth the yearly subscription fee if all you ever wrote was this: “But Newsom combines JFK dreams with the personality of RFK Jr.’s brainworm.” 😂☠️

You speak of the "Overton Window." I looked it up. It reminds me of the Brewster Window and Brewster Angle - but these are subjects in optics. This makes certain kinds of lasers function properly. I find the Brewster Window much more interesting than the "Overton Window." (Check it out - there is a Wikipedia article on Brewster's Angle.)

Oh man, I have to agree. That podcast was the dumbest move he could have come up with. Gaven was doing ok in my book, until that nonsense. Sadly, it's gotten worse since then. He deserves the dingus.

He has made questionable choices, to be sure. He is the epitome of that guy who says "let's be reasonable" as if we weren't. Fuck that guy.

I think my comment here is directed toward future Dingus honorees. I found this horrible garbage at The Federalist: https://thefederalist.com/2025/05/16/how-two-big-school-choice-measures-in-federal-budget-bill-would-revive-america/.

Lyz is the perfect person to destroy the crap Pullman presents as an ‘argument’ here. What I most wanted to note is that Pullman is the executive editor of The Federalist who specifically states in that piece she wrote that women should never have jobs. She has six kids and presumably gets paid for producing the untreated sewage that is ‘The Federalist,’ but thinks no other women should ever be permitted to live like she does. I get angry at men who says this nonsense but Pullman and her sorority sisters reduce me to incoherent blind RAGE. I know that they have no shame and so ignore it when they are exposed as hypocrites, but can’t we make the rest of the world see that ‘Do as I say, not as I do’ is an evil idea?
