That Greta Thunberg not only annihilates the false masculinity of destruction but also makes many of us look in the mirror and think about how we've failed is challenging to face. Even now I think to myself that she shouldn't have to be the voice, and I don't know that she wants to be. She just knows most of us are too comfortable, too stable, paying bills, keeping our families fed, trapped in the system we also benefit from, and cannot see a way to do what needs to be done, to hold the world to account over what we've already done, and will continue to do. It's a hard pill to swallow. And if your entire brand is being a loud idiot, well, there you have it.
YouTuber Danny Gonzalez did a great breakdown of Andrew Tate's absurd Entire Thing and the obviously creepy and predatory vibes it all gave off ten months ago: https://youtu.be/vlT3zUrRT6c
When Greta was in the US for the UN climate summit, I admired the purity of her disgust when she spotted trump-with-a-small-t. It was striking how a young woman could be so self-possessed and honest that her entire being cringed at the site of him.
While 2050 sounds far enough in the future that grownups can put off thinking about it, for Greta who will 20 next week and her young climate allies they’ll spend half their life expectancies living in the dystopian hellscape that will be earth then if we don’t do something about it right now. It’s sad that we look to a teenager to speak truth to power but I’m so thankful she’s willing.
The perfect end-of-year dingus., thank you Lyz!I wish I didn't know who he was, but I can end the year laughing. To wit, please watch this righteous hilarity: https://twitter.com/wsebag/status/1608742310413475840

The video being the thing that specifically preceded his arrest feels like a real "when the truth and the legend are in conflict, print the legend" moment.
God, I love Greta Thunberg. 'smalldickenergy@getalife.com' - There is no way I would have come up with that when I was 19. And not just because I had only had an email address for a year at that point.
LEGEND.
I hope all his cars are seized and impounded for years while he rots in jail.
First of all, thank you for explaining this Andrew Tate business, because I kept seeing flashes of it but have been too busy doing my best to put the break in this holiday break, so I totally missed most of it. I'm not sure the world deserves Greta, but I'm sure glad we get her anyway. Second, how much do I love this newsletter?!? I'm so happy to have spent the last year with you, Lyz, and this marvelous community. Here's to another year of cautionary tales, fantastic writing, deep insight, and sarcastic laughter.
This was just a beautiful series of events, and also what I do like about the Twitter. If you haven't already watched Reservation Dogs, I highly, highly recommend. You will incorporate "shitass" like you never thought you would. And those kids are delightful.
Am so feeling the climate denial part. Watched my MAGA neighbor get his snowblower out, struggle to start it then let it run while he shoveled some the hard the hard to reach places. Then snowblow the rest, including the other hard to reach places and take twice as long doing it. Then 3 days later temperatures hit 60F almost on global warming cue.
For all the reasons that old/old at heart white men hate Greta are the very reasons I love her. There's no time to prettify the end of our existence as we know it. Thank you for this Dingus. I was unaware of him until this week as well. I hope he rots in Romanian carceral hell!!
Thanks for Wednesday's dance and Happy New Year!! See you on the flip side!
Dingus of the Week: Andrew Tate

God bless Greta. The world needs so many more like her.
What was that again, about autistic people not having a sense of humour?

"Kirkland brand misogyny" 😆

Went to Greta's rally in Iowa City. Nothing but admiration for her and her effort.
Re Dingii for 2023, keep tabs on the Iowa governor and legislature. They and the voters who elected them own the state now.
Happy new year.

"2023 is going to be a good year, my friends"
Boy, I sure hope so. Every year at this time, I hope that the next year will be better than the last.
It doesn't seem to ever workout that way.
